What makes her feel good about our Maui Nui
community?

“The aloha that is shared throughout the island.”

What is she concerned about in Maui Nui?

“There are a lot of houses being built and being priced too
high for a normal family in Hawaii.”

What is her idea to address this community concern?

“We could have low income housing or have a certain
amount taken off the price of a house because we live
here—like a kamaaina rate. We should have more sympa–
thy for people with less paying jobs.”

What are her hopes for Maui’s future?

“For us to keep everything how it is. Stop building near
beaches because it’s causing a lot of damage to our ocean
and reefs.”

“Youth Alliance has
affected me be–
cause now I recycle,
before I didn’t. It’s
made me aware of
how if we throw our
trash in the landfill it
affects us.”
