Youth Alliance learns about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
In December the Focus Maui Nui Youth Alliance visited Maui Economic Development Board. Surprise speaker, Ed Reinhardt President of Maui Electric, began the day by encouraging members to follow their dreams and pursue their passions. With this inspiration members were ready immerse themselves in the areas of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with hands-on individual and group activities. Members learned about the theory of water displacement, the engineering of bridge building, the chemistry of home made ice cream and the team work and communication skills involved in building a molecule.
