Tune in Maui! Youth Alliance produces public service announcements at youth run radio station RadiOpio, 89.5
Alliance members spent the day at the Paia Youth and Cultural Center, home of the youth run radio station RadiOpio, getting a behind the scenes look at radio broadcasting and creating their own public service announcements (PSAs) for broadcast. Working in teams, Alliance members used their research skills and creativity to produce PSAs that raise awareness about matters important to Maui County. Their messages emphasized the importance of staying in school, drug and alcohol awareness, buying locally, taking care of the environment and being involved in community planning efforts.
